The AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course trains participants to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
Who should take this course?
The AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course is designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements, or anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.
What does this course teach?
Duration: 3.5 Hours in classroom (first aid is blended with some online work required prior to class). American Heart Association certification provided. NOTE: Due to COVID-19, ALL CLASSES WILL BE TAUGHT USING THE BLENDED FORMAT, until further guidance from the American Heart Association.
Description: This class combines Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED and First Aid Training into one convenient session. Lay Responder Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED with First Aid classes teaches the skills necessary to recognize and provide immediate care for breathing problems, cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until medical personnel arrive. Participants will be certified by the American Heart Association for the class that they need.
Intended Audience: Teachers, daycare providers, coaches, office workers, new parents, or anyone who wants or needs to learn the life-saving skills of CPR and are not a healthcare professional.
